Robert Fish, President of Bankston Partners & CFO of Integra Staffing & Search, has been named the Chair of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Workforce Development Board (WDB) and Executive Committee. Originally appointed by the city’s Mayor in 2004, Fish has been serving on the board as Vice Chair of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Joblink Operations Management Committee. He was elevated Friday by the WDB to serve as their new leader.

“It’s exciting to be elected to this position,” says Fish. “I look forward to helping the Charlotte region develop a globally competitive workforce and helping individual job seekers in reducing barriers to employment.”

The WDB is a 24-person Board appointed by the Mayor of the City of Charlotte consisting of 12 private sector and 12 public sector members. The WDB’s purpose is to provide policy, planning and oversight for local workforce development programs and address workforce issues as identified by the community. The WDB plays a key role in designing a workforce development system that meets the needs of local businesses as well as the unemployed, under-employed, youth, welfare recipients and other individuals seeking to enter the workforce.
